Wardens Peer Interaction Program

In an exciting collaboration, the Correctional Management Institute of Texas (CMIT) and the North American Association of Wardens & Superintendents (NAAWS) are teaming up to bring the very popular Wardens Peer Interaction Training Program to a new level. This program is designed for Wardens and Superintendents, including Deputy and/or Assistant Wardens and Superintendents.

Topics

  • Provide a forum for Wardens to network with peers
  • Discuss current management and direction of prison and jail operations and programs
  • Identify and discuss critical issues facing prison management
  • Explore and discuss best practices and prepare strategies for handling critical correctional challenges

Who Should Attend?

  • Wardens, including Deputy and/or Assistant Wardens
  • Superintendents, including Deputy and/or Assistant Superintendents

Dress Code:

Business Casual
Clothing should be professional, and no caps/hats or shorts are permitted. Slacks, khakis, skirts, dresses, button-downs, or blouses are acceptable. It is always recommended to bring a light jacket in case the training room is cold.

Additional Information:

Only 36 participants will be accepted and agencies are encouraged to send participants in teams of two.

The program fee covers all training materials, lunches and dinners (breakfast is included with your stay at the University Hotel), and transportation from and to the George Bush Intercontinental Airport.

Selected participants will be contacted by our office and provided with additional information regarding the program.

Todd Ishee, Secretary of North Carolina Department of Adult Correction
Guest speaker - David Glaser, Former Provost Marshall General, US Army Corrections

Cancellation Policy: If the participant has already paid, he/she will be refunded half the cost of the registration fee if written notice of cancellation is received by the Correctional Management Institute of Texas no later than ten (10) business days prior to the program. No refunds are available after this date, but substitutions of attendees are permitted. If no written cancellation is received and the participant does not attend the program, the participant/agency will be required to pay 100% of the registration fee if the registration fee was not previously paid.
